Lesedi Solar PV Farm (75 MW)

The Lesedi Solar PV Farm is located on Humansrus Farm approximately 30 km East of Postmasburg, Northern Cape. The area is sun-drenched and is characterised by minimal rainfall and vast open areas, placing it amongst the best locations in the world for high irradiance. Construction of the plant started in January 2013 and commercial operations, began in May 2014. The power plant currently supplies approximately 140 GWh of power to Eskom annually in accordance with a government-guaranteed Power Purchase Agreement that runs until April 2034.
